HOUSTON (KIAH) — Houston Happens host Maggie Flecknoe is ending April with a jam-packed show.

Shop with a purpose and own a piece of Houston history during “An Estate of Grace Sale”, featuring items from the estate of the late Houston real estate icon Martha Turner, namesake of Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty. Donated by her daughter, Deasa Turner, funds raised from the Sale will support the StellaNova Foundation, a local nonprofit whose mission is to provide funding for organizations which support responsible mental healthcare to those in need. Deasa Turner joins us live in studio with all of the details and some of her mother’s iconic pieces.

Maggie Flecknoe started her broadcast career behind the mic on 790 KBME “The Sports Animal” and 740 KTRH. She made the transition from radio to television in 2009, when she joined CW39 Houston. Maggie started as a part-time associate producer and quickly worked her way on air. She was the host of the edgy segment the “Online Dish with Maggie.” Definitely a morning person, Maggie jumped at the opportunity to be part of Tribune’s first syndicated show “Eye-Opener,” which later became “Morning Dose.” Maggie’s passion is being out in the community and telling Houston’s stories—you may even catch her on a crazy adventure! Maggie’s known off-air for her roles in various Japanese anime films. One of Maggie’s favorite roles was as Yukari Yukino in “The Garden of Words,” which earned her honors at the 2nd Annual BTVA Anime Dub Awards. Outside of anime, Maggie has also appeared in commercials with former Houston Rocket Yao Ming and country band Lady Antebellum. She also has performed at the Alley, Upstage and Texas Repertory Theaters. A native of Colorado, Maggie graduated with honors from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She has a bachelor’s degree in broadcast news with an emphasis in theater. After graduating in May 2005, Maggie went on to study at Harvard, where she earned a Master’s degree in theater from the Moscow Art Theater. She may be a Colorado girl, but Houston definitely has her heart! You can reach Maggie at mflecknoe@nexstar.tv or reach out to her on social media.
